Your Beekeeping Experience will start in our garden classroom where Ray & I will tell you about the life cycle of the Honey bees and how they work together in their hive.
You will look at one of the commonly used beehives and how all the parts fit together ready for your bees. You will see the tools beekeepers use and watch a smoker being lit.
You'll get kitted up in one of our Beekeeping suits and head to our garden apiary. In groups of up to 4 people and a beekeeper, we will open a hive and you will handle a frame or two of honey bees. We will discuss what you see on the frame and hopefully see the illusive Queen Bee wandering around.
After the experience, we'll go back to the classroom, and enjoy homemade cake and refreshments.
